An integration of elements of different tools used in adult education into an unique and new path. All the Countries represented in the proposal (Italy, France, Sweden, Bulgaria) share a similar situation with an ever increasing adult and senior population, for whom traditional learning offers, be it formal schooling, training or adult lifelong learning, may be inappropriate. Consequently, it is significantly difficult for these people, whether or not they are still working, to re-enter education and accordingly to have access to adult lifelong learning schemes.

There is an increasing need to facilitate the access of both the people who have a job and of those who are outside the labor market (due to their age, or because they choose it, especially if women) to educational pathways which are tailored to the individual's specific requirements, respond to different needs, and which do not necessarily target employability. This may require innovative informal educational methods.

The partners have identified three solutions, known separately in some or all the Countries represented in the proposal, whose integration could give new and different opportunities: Study circles, Time banks and Trees of knowledge. During the project's activities, a fourth tool has been identified as worthy of further analysis, the Reseaux d'Exchange des savoirs.
